There are four types of membership: Founder, Ordinary, Partner & affiliate membership categories.
This is limited to the eleven (11) founder organizations.
These are Community Based Organizations (CBOs) and National NGOs members who join the Platform after its establishment. They include;
- Community Based organizations – Youth, women, marginalized, indigenous groups, People Living with Disability (PWDs), and Students groups, Faith Based Organizations’, and Human Rights Organizations’ working on Climate Change.
- National NGOs – CSOs, (NGOs), Consortia, Councils, Associations, Federations, and Umbrella organizations working on Climate Change.
These include Observer Status membership and Affiliate status membership
Observer status membership is open to:
- NGOs that because of constitutional constraints or reasons of principle and cannot be associated with the views and/or positions adopted by the Platform, but still wish to be associated with the Platform.
- Observer status members are not able to vote at the General Assembly nor stand for the Platform Board.
Affiliate status membership is open to:
- National and Sub-National governments, regional or international NGOs or network of NGOs, academic and research institutes and private sectors that have existing activities on Climate Justice or existing activities of benefit to NGOs. Affiliate membership provides a means to make better links between their work and the work of the Platform members.
- Affiliate status members are not able to vote at the General Assembly nor stand for the Platform Board.
